Emergency alert systems in Russia and Ukraine were hit in cyber attacks overnight, with fake warnings of possible nuclear strikes broadcast to users in both countries. The systems have since been brought back under control, though much remains unclear about the attacks, including who was responsible. FRANCE 24's Sharon Gaffney speaks with Dr Melanie Garson, Associate Professor in International Security at University College London. She says that these kind of attacks "are designed to undermine faith in the government's ability to provide trust".
